The book of the famous English scientist, Stephen Hawking, "a short story of time" ends with an unexpected remark. He considers the moment "when even people of the road will be able to participate in scientifique discussions and to know why the universe and we exist. He writes - if we find the answer to this question - then that will be the final triumph of human reasoning; then we will know God's thought." |
Since a long time the believer has an answer to this question. It is not by efforts of his reasoning which has been clarified by mathematics, but it is by faith in God who revealed himself. In fact, how can the completed being understand the uncompleted being? How can the sinner understand him who is holiness?
The knowledge of God can only be acquired by a revelation of the Creator to his creatures, this revelation is in the Bible.
To recognize the godly revelation seems an inadmissible surrendering of man's reasoning. However, to him who believes, it is a deep joy to have access to the domain of knowledge which is lifted up infinitely through God's grace.
